We're excited to welcome Sylvia Barnard, NSC Board Member and Executive Director of the Good Samaritan Shelter in Santa Barbara County, California for the second part of our "Serving People Experiencing Homelessness" calls. The Good Samaritan Shelter currently operates two Sobering Centers as part of its program offerings and will soon be opening a third. Sylvia has served the Good Samaritan Shelter for nearly 30 years and has been instrumental in growing the organization from an annual budget of $10 million to over $20 million in the last two years. Currently, over 275 people work for the Good Samaritan Shelter. The organization was recently one of 113 California nonprofits selected to receive a Nonprofit of the Year award from the California Association of Nonprofits.
